I have to say that I never expected such a great album from Ace,
especially not at this point in his career... but this album is
FANTASTIC! Ace has gone into musical areas that he's never covered
before & Genghis Khan alone is more than worth getting this CD for.
I think it's the best tune he's ever written but I also love Fox on the
Run, Change the World, It's a Great Life & Fractured Quantum.
I doubt Ace is ever going to bring in too may new fans at

Jean-Paul Bourelly's ensemble combines his own heavy guitar sound and
R&B-tinged vocals, the passionate African chants of Abdourahmane
Diop, and the percussive drive of Samba Sock on boograboo (four large
African congas with bells) and Slaka on djembe. Reggie Washington (of
Steve Coleman renown) plays bass on four tracks, doubling the low end

Initially
an inheritor of an abstract/expressionist improvising style originated
in the '60s by such saxophonists as Albert Ayler and Archie Shepp,
David Murray eventually evolved into something of a mainstream
tenorist, playing standards with conventional rhythm sections. However,
Murray's readings of the old chestnuts are vastly different from
interpretations by bebop saxophonists of his generation. Murray's sound
is deep, dark, and furry with a wide vibrato -- reminiscent of such
swing-era tenorists as Ben Webster an

John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall, Blue Note Records has unearthed another
masterpiece from the vaults with Charles Mingus Sextet with Eric
Dolphy: Cornell 1964. The double-disc collection is a monumental
portrayal of an all-star group at the height of its powers, led by the
bassist/composer who is widel

was the 14th album for British rock group Uriah Heep. It was the first
album without keyboardist Ken Hensley. The album was
critically-acclaimed and fairly commercially successful album due, in
part, to the band retooling and updating their sound to a contemporary
heavy metal style. It featured their last U.S. hits, "On the Rebound"
and "That's the Way That It Is". The latter is th

Perhaps only the fantasy duo of King Kong and Bambi could be a more
bizarre pairing than Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Yet on Raising
Sand, their haunting and brilliant collaboration, the Led Zeppelin
screamer and Nashville's most hypnotic song whisperer seem made for
each other. This, however, is not the howling Plant of "Whole Lotta
Love," but a far more precise and softer singer than even the one who
emerged with Dreamland (2002). No matter that Plant seems so subdued as
to be on downers, for that's one of the keys to this most improbable
meeting of musical galaxies--almost all of it seems slowed down, out of
time, otherworldly, and at times downright David Lynch-ian, the product
of an altered consciousness. Yet probably the main

Never
Let Me Down is an album by David Bowie, released April 1987. It drew
some of the harshest criticism of Bowie's career, condemned by critics
as a faceless piece of product and ignored by the public — Bowie
himself said that the album featured good songwriting that was ruined
by overly commercial and dull production. However, it featured more of
Bowie's own compositions than its predecessor, Tonight.
