Jesus on Extasy is a band that will quickly gain success.
Musicwise comparable to Dope Stars Inc. and Deathstars and strongly
influenced by their great role model Marilyn Manson. Industrial rock
with a little glam. On the single ‘Assassinate Me’ it surely delivers.
This is a nice song as well. For a full length album it however seems
harder to keep it up in musical respect and it quickly becomes boring.
Yet the album Holy Beauty has some nice songs that are interesting for
whoever likes this kind of crossover electro-industrial rock. ‘Nuclear
Bitch’ is one of the nice songs and it has as much hit potential as
‘Assassinate Me’. Also the merciless pounding ‘Neochrome’ is quite
allright but that is all there is. The sampling on this recording is
very good though. After some tracks i started to get irritated by the
horrible German accent of the English languaged vocalist. And a cover of
a song such as ‘2nd Skin’ just is something you don’t do. Jesus on
Exstasy has been succesfully launched as new act, but it isn’t original
nor good, that’s for sure.
