Established in the end of 1996 the long standing Lithuanian alternative
heavy rock band MOUNTAINSIDE is well known for its original and
unorthodox style, driving live performances and skepticism towards the
music industry.
The band is also active in Lithuanian rock scene:
drummer Karolis runs recording studio "Climax sound", guitarist Sharas
organizes festival MountainRock and with a help from basist Rytelis
maintains the only Lithuanian rock oriented news portal mountainrock.lt

Considered to be one of the most
diverse bands in Lithuania MOUNTAINSIDE four years in a row earned a
nomination in the Lithuanian Alternative Music awards in the category of
the Best Lithuanian Rock/Metal Band in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
One of the busiest bands in Lithuanian underground MOUNTAINSIDE every
year play lots of driving 100% rocknroll performances in Lithuanian and
foreign clubs, pubs, big and small open-air festivals and other places.
MOUNTAINSIDE shared the stage with such bands as a legendary Lithuanian
band BIX, TITO and TARANTULA, NEW MODEL ARMY, ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, THE
BONES.
Over the years the band gathered a committed pack of fans,
and this culminated in the establishment of the MOUNTAINSIDE fan club in
March of 2001.
In early 2003 MOUNTAINSIDE released a long awaited
debut mini album Distorted. The first pressing quickly sold out. In 2002
track Nepanikuok was included in compilation Euro.lt (Bomba records).
In 2004 young Norwegian film director Fredrik Bryn has used several
MOUNTAINSIDE songs for the soundtrack of the race-car movie that has
been shot in Norway for Planet Freddie and released as a DVD.
In
April 2007 the second album "All About Time" was finally out and hit the
shops. It is released by "ZONA Records" - the oldest indie in the
Baltic States.
