Killer
is a heavy metal band from Solothurn, Switzerland formed in 1979 after
the split of Switzerland's rockgroup Nr. 2 Kaktus. Guitar player CROWN
KOCHER founded with MARK BROMAN, ALI ALLEMANN, MANY MAURER and BRIAN
KOFMEHL the new Swiss Rock Shock. The first Killer album called
"LADYKILLER" was recorded in Spring 1981, at New Sound Studio with
producer "CORRY KNOBEL". They sold over 12000 LPs in the first quarter
1981. The gigs became greater... Well equipped with a large King-Size
P.A. and a giant lightshow, KILLER reached the Nr. 2 status in
Switzerland after their compatriots KROKUS. With the next album called
THRILLER, the band released 1982 their best ever recorded songmaterial.
Despite increasing popularity, KILLER's third album STRONGER THAN EVER
released 1983 did not contribute to the band's final breakthru and a new
tour with Motörhead in autumn 1983 has been cancelled after the first
gig in Stuttgart, Germany. After this dissapointing experience, the
members of KILLER split and them all founded their own group. Guitar
player JAN VAN CROW has recorded another album called "YOUNG BLOOD" with
three new musicians, the weakest of all KILLER albums, measured on
sellings, but however the KILLER-album with a new singer performance on
it... Poor album-sellings and several problems around the band meant the
end of KILLER in 1994.
